To view your Similarity Report in Turnitin, select the similarity percentage (in the example, this is a red 100%).

To the right-hand side of your assignment, click Submission details.

From the Course Navigation menu on the left, select Assignments.

As a result, the course will appear in your Canvas Dashboard and Courses list. If the course is not displayed in the My courses list, select All courses, and use the star icon to add the course as a favorite.

Select the course in which your assignment is located.

From the side of any page within Canvas, select the Courses tab.

Note: A similarity report will generate for every file uploaded.

When you're done, select the Submit assignment button to upload to Turnitin.

If you haven't already, you may need to accept the Turnitin EULA and verify that your submission is your own work.

Use the Choose file button to find the file you'd like to upload.

Use the Submit Assignment button to get started.

From the Assignments tab, open your assignment.

Navigate to your course in ASU's Canvas LMS ( or ).

If you haven't submitted through Canvas before, follow the steps below. Submitting through an assignment Turnitin uses the same Canvas upload process with which you're likely already familiar. Instructors may also Quick Submit (i.e., Direct Submit) papers to Turnitin, but this functionality is not available to students at this time.

Note: The only way that a student can submit a paper to Turnitin is via a Canvas Assignment on which the Turnitin plagiarism checking tool has been enabled by the instructor for academic integrity purposes. Finally, Turnitin is available as a plagiarism checking tool for assignments. For all other courses involving proctored tests, Respondus is available to prevent students from opening unauthorized applications during the assessment. For iCourses and oCourses, Honorlock is the principal online proctoring solution.
